The Schools Out Enrichment Program Director is responsible for the development, implementation, and direct supervision of enrichment program staff, and all other duties related to enrichment programming. This role involves administering the operation of periodic enrichment workshops by planning, coordinating, and implementing a weekly schedule of activities to ensure a balanced program, a welcoming environment, and maintaining focus on the developmental needs and interests of all participants. The director will also develop, implement, and manage the site registration process, ensuring compliance with state regulations for afterschool programs. They will plan and implement weekly/biweekly workshops that encourage creativity, allow for skill development, and expose children to new experiences, submitting plans to the Program Administrator. This position supervises the daily work of assigned staff, assists in the preparation and delivery of training and annual evaluations, and manages or assists with the program’s fiscal responsibilities, including developing budgets, tracking purchases, fee collection, and approving timesheets. Accurate record-keeping of attendance, parental permissions, and program offerings is essential. The director provides direct supervision to students, ensuring guidelines for participation, inclusion, conduct, and discipline are followed to maintain a safe, enjoyable learning environment. Coordination and supervision of monthly field trips and ensuring proper supervision of children at all times are key responsibilities. Communication with supervisor, staff, participants, parents/guardians, volunteers, and school administrators is crucial, including preparing promotional materials, providing regular reports, and reporting incidents immediately. The role requires attending monthly leadership meetings, serving as a liaison, and participating in public relations activities. Training and professional development are also part of the role, as determined by state regulations and the School’s Out Program Administrator. The director may perform other duties as assigned.
