The New Jersey Tutoring Corps Inc. provides high-impact tutoring in math and literacy to K–8 students, helping to close learning gaps. Tutors work in partnership with local education agencies (LEAs) to support scholars in small groups of 1–4, building foundational skills and confidence. This role involves receiving an On-the-Job Training (OJT) checklist outlining job competencies. Tutors will engage K-8 scholars in math and literacy using an asset-based approach, sit with scholars for 4-6 hours per day, and complete daily records digitally. They will prepare lessons digitally, use data to drive instruction, and maintain confidentiality. Regular communication with site leaders, participation in coaching, and a commitment to continuous professional growth are expected. Professionalism, including reliability, punctuality, and responsiveness, is crucial. Tutors must adhere to local health department and school district requirements.
