About The Position

Innovations Academy, an ISBE approved therapeutic day school, has an full-time opportunity for a licensed therapist to join its dynamic staff with responsibility for providing services to Innovations Academy students from Elementary through High School. Under the direction of the Innovations Clinical Supervisor, the School therapist performs clinical functions, including assisting students in meeting their social, emotional, and academic needs while facilitating access to therapeutic treatment and activities designed to assist students in achieving their optimal level of emotional health. Related tasks under the Innovations Academy Therapist's responsibility include participating in and contributing to student's Individual Educational Plans (IEP) and related meetings, providing basic consultation, psychoeducation, individual and group counseling, and providing other specialized clinical services for students within the school environment. The clinical services provided include crisis intervention and individual and group therapy addressing goals included in each student's IEP.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in a mental health/human services field (counseling, social work, psychology) from an accredited college is REQUIRED.
  • LPC/LSW or an Illinois Certification Type 73 (School Social Worker) REQUIRED.
  • Primary Scource Verification shall be required through Illinois Department of Professional Regulation.

Nice To Haves

  • Minimum of two (2) years' of experience is preferred in a school, special education, or behavioral health setting, with direct experience in individual therapy.
  • Crisis intervention skills.
  • Vocational/transitional planning and guidance.
  • Strong clinical skills, with a majority of experience focused on the child/adolescent population.
  • LCPC/LCSW strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting students in meeting their social, emotional, and academic needs.
