About The Position

The Learning House, a private therapeutic day school in Wheeling, IL, is seeking a School Therapist (LSW/LCSW/LCPC/LMFT) with strong clinical skills in individual, family, and group counseling. The school serves junior and high school students who have been determined eligible for special education services in the categories of ED/SLD/OHI and Autism. The Learning House is a year-round program that integrates individualized education, vocational support, counseling, and experiential activities to foster self-worth, healthy decision-making, responsibility, community, and a successful future. This position is available as either a part-time (25 hours/week) or full-time role.

Requirements

Master’s Degree in Counseling, or a Master's degree in a clinical profession such as psychology, social work, or other related field.
Appropriate and current licensure (LSW/LCSW/LCPC/LMFT).
Strong interpersonal skills.
Organizational abilities.
Effective written and oral communication.
Capacity to efficiently manage responsibilities and timelines.

Nice To Haves

Ability to speak Spanish.

Responsibilities

Providing direct clinical individual and group counseling to students throughout the day.
Managing a caseload averaging 8-10 students.
Reporting directly to the Clinical Director and Executive Director.
Working collaboratively with administrators, counselors, parents, and teachers to implement the program and facilitate student growth and change.
