About The Position
ATC Healthcare Nassau County is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) for an immediate school-based opportunity in the Woodmere School District. This position offers the opportunity to work directly with students in a supportive educational environment while helping them strengthen communication skills and achieve academic success.
Requirements
- Active New York State Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) License required
- NYS School Certification required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable professional demeanor
- Knowledge of language development, speech disorders, and literacy development
Nice To Haves
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Provide one-on-one and group speech therapy services in a school setting
- Conduct speech and language assessments
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Complete and maintain all required documentation and progress notes
- Write and manage Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
- Support students with speech, language, pragmatic, and social communication challenges
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student success
- Help improve speech production, language development, literacy, and executive functioning skills
