About The Position

Princeton Staffing Solutions is seeking a School Social Worker for a contract position within a Public School District in Ann Arbor, MI. This role focuses on student support and mental health services for students from Kindergarten to 12th grade. The contract duration is 41 weeks, with a standard work week of 37.5 hours. The position involves evaluating eligibility for special education services, assessing social and emotional development, and providing direct social work services as required by the student's Individualized Education Program (IEP). Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW)
  • State License as a Social Worker (if required by state department of education)
  • Educational/Teacher Certification (if required by state department of education)
  • Experience as a School-Based Social Worker (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate eligibility for special education services and placement as a member of the IEP team as defined by IDEA.
  • Assess social and emotional development, mental health status, and adaptive behavior relevant to case study evaluations.
  • Use a holistic approach to assess cultural, environmental, and socio-economic factors.
  • Determine related service needs (e.g., social work, counseling, consultation) and set goals/objectives aligned with special education eligibility.
  • Collaborate with school staff on functional behavior assessments and behavior intervention plans.
  • Share assessment findings during IEP meetings and conferences.
  • Provide individual, group, or evidence-based curriculum instruction as required by the student's IEP.
  • Deliver direct social work services to students.
