About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and student-centered School Social Worker to support school students in Renton, WA. The role provides direct counseling, collaborates with families and staff, and helps build a safe, supportive, and inclusive school environment that promotes emotional and academic success. The position is part-time, serving middle school grades, with a flexible schedule of 10 hours per week and hourly pay of $45 ($450 per week).

Requirements

• Master's Degree in Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE-accredited program.
• Active Washington State credential: LSWAIC, LMSW, LICSW, or School Social Worker ESA, as accepted by the district.
• Knowledge of Washington mandatory reporting requirements and professional ethical standards.
• Strong communication, counseling, and documentation skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with students, families, and educational teams.

Responsibilities

• Conduct psychosocial assessments to identify student needs and barriers to learning.
• Provide counseling and social-emotional support to students.
• Assist students with behavioral and mental health challenges.
• Respond to crises and support student safety planning.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
• Coordinate services with community mental health providers and support agencies.
• Maintain accurate documentation and case management records.
• Promote trauma-informed and culturally responsive practices.
