About The Position
Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Newark is seeking a Per Diem School Social Worker for our School Social Services Department. This position is based in Newark, NJ & Palisades Park, NJ, with 18 hours per week. The department provides services to Catholic schools within the Archdiocese of Newark, as well as nonpublic and charter schools in Bergen, Essex, Hudson, and Union counties. The role involves travel to contracted schools based on assignment.
Requirements
- Master's Degree
- NJDOE School Social Worker certification
Nice To Haves
- One year post masters experience working as a school social worker
Responsibilities
- Screening/assessment of students
- Individual and group counseling
- Consultation with parents and school staff
- Workshops for students, teachers, and parents
- Documentation and reporting as required
- Attendance at meetings and trainings as required
