School Social Worker (LCSW)
About The Position
5280 High school is seeking a dedicated, collaborative, and trauma-informed Social Worker to provide mental health support within our recovery high school community. As a recovery charter school committed to fostering a supportive and inclusive environment, we serve students who struggle with substance misuse, eating disorders, mental health disorders and other self-destructive behaviors. Our students in recovery from mental health primary, require additional assistance with emotional regulation, coping skills, safety, and crisis management. The ideal candidate will align with our mission to prioritize relationships and student well-being, working closely with the Recovery Team, special education team and general education teachers to support all students.
Requirements
- Strong commitment to the mission and vision of 5280 High School
- Hold a CDE endorsement in School Social Work
- Hold their Colorado Clinical Social Work license
- Have a strong demonstration of success in working with diverse populations
- Exhibit a growth mindset in the academic, social and behavioral success in all students
- Be patient, flexible and empathetic when working with students, families and colleagues
- Embrace diversity and inclusion
- Experience administering a variety of formal social and emotional evaluations
- Be passionate, creative and collaborative
- Value divergent thinking and a student-centered approach to education
- Background check and fingerprinting clearance
Responsibilities
- Evaluating students to determine their needs and the support options that can help them
- Document services and interventions provided
- Referring students to community resources to help their specific situations
- Collaborating with other care providers to coordinate services
- Monitoring students mental health and overall well being
- Maintaining records of treatments and services
- Providing talk therapy
- Responding to crisis situations
- Participate in the appropriate meetings such as MTSS and service plan meetings
