About The Position

Hazel Park Schools is seeking a School Security Guard for Hazel Park High School for the 2026-2027 School Year. This is a 10-month, Full Time, 1.0 FTE position, working when students are in session, not to exceed 8 hours per day. The role involves ensuring a safe school environment, monitoring student behavior, and fostering positive relationships with students.

Requirements

• Good employment and excellent attendance record.
• Excellent public relations skills.
• Ability to communicate well with students.
• Ability to follow directions, make decisions, and assume responsibility for activities without supervision.
• Ability to successfully pass background (fingerprints) and physical screening.

Responsibilities

• Greet students entering and leaving the building.
• Build relationships with students to create a positive school culture.
• Monitor students in hallway & cafeteria throughout the school day including morning and afternoon dismissal time.
• Escort students to their classroom or administration office when arriving late or are wondering the halls.
• Ensure students are following policies as indicated in the school handbook.
• Monitor and ensure that the school is a safe environment.
• Communicate with the Building Principals and School Liaison Officer.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Building Principal.
