The Eaton County Sheriff's Office is accepting applications from qualified deputies interested in serving as the School Resource Officer (SRO) assigned to Waverly Community Schools. The School Resource Officer serves as the Sheriff's Office representative within the school district and is responsible for providing a safe and secure learning environment while fostering positive relationships with students, staff, parents, and the community. The SRO works collaboratively with school administrators to enhance campus safety, mentor students, educate staff and students on public safety issues, and serve as a trusted law enforcement resource. During the summer months, the Deputy is expected to fulfill the role of a community engagement/policing Deputy. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must be at least 18 years of age, a U.S. Citizen, and have NO Felony Convictions. Applications are accepted until there are sufficient numbers of qualified applications or a qualified candidate is identified, and this position could close at any time.
