About The Position

The City of Grants Police Department is accepting applications for the position of School Resource Officer (SRO). This position plays a vital role in maintaining a safe and positive school environment while building strong relationships with students, school staff, parents, and the community. The School Resource Officer performs a variety of law enforcement and public safety duties within the school setting.

Requirements

• New Mexico Certified Law Enforcement Officer
• Valid New Mexico Driver’s License and have and maintain a good driving record.
• Ability to pass background, drug screen, psychological, and physical requirements
• Must obtain School Resource Officer (SRO) certification within one (1) year of assignment.
• The selected candidate must be able to work effectively with students, school administrators, staff, parents, and the public while maintaining professionalism and sound judgment.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum three (3) years of certified law enforcement experience preferred
