Meeting Street is currently looking for a School Registered Nurse for 40 hours per week.

Requirements

Licensed RN in Rhode Island.
Maintains current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) or CPR (Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation) certification.
Adapts to any medical/technical equipment that is needed to provide health services to our students.
Provides care to students in their classrooms, special activities, and on field trips.
Generally, be able to lift/push/pull up to 35 pounds independently and up to 100 pounds with the assistance of adaptive equipment or another staff member.

Responsibilities

Maintains the health and well-being of the students during the school hours for all daily issues as well as responding al emergency situations.
Keeps up to date records for all students and assists with scheduling all mandatory health screens.
Planning and implementing all necessary nursing procedures and develop others if they are needed.
Administers medications and performs nursing procedures ordered by the physician to be given during school hours including but not limited to G-Tube feedings, catheterizations, respiratory treatments, dialysis, dressing changes, wound care, trach care and suctioning, etc.
Performs ongoing health status evaluations and medication/treatment reviews to identify health needs and potential problems.
Documents all nursing care and changes in a student’s health status.
Communicates timely updates to parents, teachers and therapy staff regarding health concerns or changes in the health status of the student.
