About The Position

Santo Domingo Pueblo is seeking a highly motivated and qualified School-Readiness Social-Emotional Coach for Early Head Start, serving children from birth through 3 years old. The coach will design and implement comprehensive Early Head Start protocols aligned with the Office of Head Start Performance Standards related to Education. This role requires a critical thinker who can work independently and as part of a team. The position involves mentoring, coaching, and assisting teaching staff in developing, implementing, and assessing quality child development and education practices. The coach will also facilitate and lead a classroom 50% of the time, coach school readiness outcomes for all children in conjunction with family service staff, and mentor/coach teaching staff in planning, organizing, and delivering developmentally appropriate practices. The ability to work with children developing typically and atypically is essential.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a bachelor's degree (BA) from a four-year college or university in Early Childhood Education, Social Services, Child Development/Human Development, or related field.
  • Three to five years' experience in early childhood.
  • Evidence of data collection and analysis that improves the results of children's school-readiness goals.
  • Ability to define problems, collect and analyze data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Ability to make concise and accurate reports and solve problems.
  • Knowledge of effectively working with adults and understanding how adults learn.
  • Good oral and written communication skills and computer skills.
  • Valid New Mexico driver's license with ability to meet Santo Domingo Pueblo liability insurance requirements and maintain eligibility for insurance.
  • Must satisfactorily pass a criminal background check and drug screening.
  • Must obtain physical exam within 30 days of hire.
  • Must have a willing attitude to be a part of the school team and strong sense of professionalism.
  • Must obtain all mandated training that meet the OHS criteria and/or the Pueblo and program (i.e., food handler's certificate, CPR/First Aid, OSHA, etc.).
