About The Position

Perkins is an international NGO dedicated to helping children with disabilities find their place in the world through best-in-class education, immersive training and support for professionals and families, advocating for inclusion, and accelerating innovation for people with disabilities. This role is within the Deafblind Program, offering a collaborative, supportive, and deeply gratifying team environment. The position prioritizes student needs and offers flexible scheduling options, including full-time (in-person or hybrid with work-from-home flexibility) or part-time employment. As a key member of an interdisciplinary team, the School Psychologist will deliver individual and group counseling, conduct diagnostic evaluations, and design behavioral supports for students who are blind, visually impaired, Deafblind, or multiply impaired.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in School Psychology from a NASP-approved college or university.
  • Massachusetts DESE Certification as a School Psychologist.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of experience as a school psychologist.

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group psychotherapeutic counseling.
  • Perform specialized psycho-diagnostic evaluations.
  • Deliver hands-on crisis intervention in classroom and residential settings.
  • Design and implement tailored behavior management programs.
  • Collaborate closely with families, program staff, and external mental health professionals to ensure cohesive, wrap-around support.
  • Actively participate in admissions screenings, triennial evaluations, and IEP meetings.
  • Mentor undergraduate and graduate interns.
  • Adapt assessment tools for complex needs.
  • Contribute to research, publications, and conference presentations.
