About The Position

The Manchester School District is seeking a School Psychologist to work across McLaughlin Middle School (2.5 days/week) and Green Acres Elementary School (2.5 days/week). This role involves administering psycho-educational assessments to identify students with academic or behavioral difficulties and determine eligibility for special education services. The psychologist will provide comprehensive evaluations, develop educational and behavioral plans, consult with IEP teams, teachers, and students, and offer counseling services.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in school psychology or equivalent
  • Completed 45 graduate hours in school psychology or related area in addition to an internship
  • Completed no less than a 500-clock hour supervised internship with school age persons
  • Meets competency requirements set forth in District’s personnel standards as required under 34 CFR 300.23 and 34 CFR 300.136
  • Requirements as set by the State of New Hampshire Certification Authorities and Board of School Committee regulations
  • Valid driver’s license and own transportation

Responsibilities

  • Provide intellectual, academic, behavioral and personality evaluations for individuals ages 3-21
  • Provide psychological evaluations of disabled or potentially disabled students ages 3-21 through: Interviews with relevant persons; Administration of diagnostic instruments; Integration of information and preparation for presentation to teams; Interpretation of findings to students, teachers, parent(s) and team members
  • Preparation of written reports
  • Prepare educational and behavioral plans based on diagnostic data
  • Provide consultation and assistance to IEP team
  • Provide consultation services to teachers and students
  • Provide behavioral intervention services to students as needed
  • Provide individual and/or group counseling services to students
  • Lead group counseling for educationally disabled students as needed
  • Participate in writing individual education plans for educationally disabled students being seen for individual or group counseling
