Requirements

  • NYSED Certification as School Psychologist
  • Ability to facilitate CSE, CPSE, and 504 meetings and make decisions that are in the best interest of the students

Nice To Haves

  • Training in Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) is preferred
  • Experience in a K-12 setting is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations, student observations, and diagnostic assessments for children across grades K-12 exhibiting a wide range of abilities and learning styles
  • Write clear, compliant, and comprehensive psychological reports that translate complex psychometric data into actionable classroom recommendations
  • Facilitate CSE, CPSE, and 504 meetings, guiding multi-disciplinary teams through eligibility determinations, accommodations, and program placements
  • Design and execute Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs) to identify the root causes of challenging classroom behaviors
  • Formulate and monitor evidence-based Behavioral Intervention Plans (BIPs) to support student emotional regulation and maximize instructional time
  • Actively participate in Child Study and Intervention Team meetings, bringing collaborative problem-solving insight to pre-referral cases
  • Collect and interpret student and classroom data to accurately assess educational progress and evaluate environmental impacts on learning
  • Implement Response to Intervention (RTI) protocols, leveraging robust data collection methods to guide multi-tiered academic and behavioral interventions
  • Maintain meticulous records of students' special education reports, progress monitoring metrics, and services provided
  • Maintain a safe, supportive learning environment
  • Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or her designee
