About The Position

REAL Journey Academies (RJA) is a non-profit charter school management organization designed to significantly increase college entrance and graduation rates for underserved students in the Inland Empire. We aim to impact and revitalize communities through the development of education and other supportive partnerships. A School Psychologist will work under the direct supervision of the RJA Director of Special Education, and with our school site teams. Their primary responsibilities will be to carry out the duties as related to the function and role of a School Psychologist such as but not limited to psychoeducational assessments and evaluations. Additionally, the School Psychologist will apply psycho-educational principles and techniques that they have learned in graduate school and as directed by their supervisor(s) to RJA educational programs. They will support RJA by addressing learning and developmental issues.

Requirements

  • Hold a valid California Credential as a School Psychologist - REQUIRED
  • Experience with computers and software applications.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to learn current software and equipment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct and interpret initial and triennial psycho-educational evaluations
  • Collaborate with Special Education teams in the development and implementation of Individualized Education Plans
  • Collect behavior data that may lead to the development of a Functional Behavior Analysis and/or Behavior Intervention Plan
  • Participate in Student Study Team (SST) meetings to develop interventions and supports for students
  • Consult with teachers, parents, and administrators regarding students’ areas of concern
  • Demonstrate the understanding and empathy necessary in working with students and their families
  • Other responsibilities, as assigned
