About The Position

Teaches professional-level group lessons to youth in appropriate performing arts discipline (musical instruments, vocals, etc.); creates lesson plans, monitors student progress, prepares students for performances; interacts with parents and other teachers; follows prescribed curriculum. This role involves 80% Performing Arts Lesson Planning and Teaching Responsibilities and 20% Child Care Responsibilities.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or G.E.D. required
  • Two years experience teaching private or group lessons in appropriate performing arts discipline, OR Any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities
  • Ability to meet attendance requirements
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language effectively
  • Ability to demonstrate performing arts techniques
  • Ability to establish goals and objectives and monitor their effective implementation
  • Ability to form positive relationships with youth
  • Ability to conduct all duties in accordance with the ministry of the organization and its Christian principles; conducts all communications and job duties with the highest level of professionalism
  • CPR, First Aid, and AED Certification (or ability to obtain within established timeframe)

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Music Arts, Music Education, or related field preferred
