About The Position

The Assistant Director of the Global Campus Program is appointed by the Director of the School of Nursing (SON). The term of office is determined by the SON Director. The Assistant Director of the Global Campus Program reports directly to the SON Director. This is a temporary, full-time appointment with the expectation to start by September 9.

Requirements

Graduate degree in nursing, doctorate preferred
Background in university-level education, experience facilitating learning across a variety of modalities.
Currency in contemporary nursing practice, and modern instructional design.

Responsibilities

Work directly with the SDSU Global Campus team and leadership to ensure the seamless operational execution of SON Global Campus programs.
Assume the duties of the SON Director upon request or in their absence to ensure administrative continuity.
Attend and participate in Full Faculty and Undergraduate Program Committee (UPC) meetings.
Serve as Chair or Co-Chair of the UPC to oversee curriculum, evaluations, and policy updates.
Review faculty meeting minutes annually to ensure all approved motions are updated and reflected accurately on the SON website and Undergraduate Handbook.
Collaborates with the SON Director and Global Campus Admin Team in preparing and implementing class schedules and faculty teaching assignments.
Monitor contracts with clinical agencies and ensure the program maintains a sufficient number of clinical placements for all students.
Ensure the program consistently meets the standards for CCNE accreditation and Board of Registered Nursing (BRN) approval.
Make recommendations to the SON Director regarding temporary positions and actively participate in search for new hires.
Lead the orientation process for new SON faculty members.
Provide ongoing guidance and support to Global Campus staff, course and clinical faculty, Student Services Advisors, Simulation and Clinical Placement Coordinators, and compliance staff.
Interview prospective candidates and manage the admission process for new student cohorts.
Host and facilitate orientation sessions for incoming students.
Collaborate with Global Campus to review student applicants.
Provide administrative guidance on student issues and support both students and faculty through the formal grievance process.
Consult with external SON advisory groups to align program goals with industry needs.
Maintain professional relationships with clinical partners to secure long-term training sites.
