Requirements

Bachelor's degree in music from accredited college/university; Master's degree is a plus.
One or more years experience in teaching musical instrument performance for specific instrument or, equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must be a fluent player of the specific musical instrument which will be taught.
Should be experienced in teaching students with a broad range of abilities and backgrounds in a private setting.
Should have a strong classical background.
Must have a minimum of five (5) years playing as a musician and one (1) or more years as a teacher for the specific instrument.
Upbeat, positive attitude with good communication and observational skills.
Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing using English; bilingual skills are a plus
Must have an advanced understanding of music theory and technique relevant to the primary instrument.
Effectively manage time and have excellent organizational skills to keep students on task.
Ability to communicate effectively with parents of young students.
Physical abilities: Ability to sit/stand for periods of time with good hearing and eyesight.
Successful background check, reference checking, and drug/alcohol screening clearance.
Acknowledgment of an agreement with GAC’s Statement of Faith and Community Covenant.

Responsibilities

Teach music theory concepts effectively to students
Provide individualized and group voice lessons tailored to student needs and goals.
Teach proper vocal techniques, breathing exercises, diction, posture, and performance skills.
Prepare students for recitals, auditions, competitions, or examinations as needed.
Develop and adapt lesson plans and curriculum based on student progress and learning styles.
Maintain accurate attendance and progress records for each student.
