School Occupational Therapist (OT) - Brooklyn
About The Position
Knowledge Road is seeking NYS-licensed Occupational Therapists (OTs) to work on a 1099 basis as school-based occupational therapists in Brooklyn. The position offers a pay rate of $75 per hour. Knowledge Road holds a New York City Department of Education (DOE) contract to provide IEP- and IESP-mandated services to students attending independent, parochial, and charter schools across Brooklyn, as well as some homeschooled students. These are not placements within DOE public schools. The workload is flexible, with no minimum caseload or exclusivity requirement, and no cap on hours. Most cases occur during school hours in Brooklyn schools, with some available after school and on weekends. Openings vary throughout the year, and the company recruits year-round, informing applicants about available cases upon application.
Requirements
- NYS license as an Occupational Therapist
- Availability to work in Brooklyn
- Cannot have been employed by the NYC Department of Education within the past year (or require special approval)
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver occupational therapy aligned to each student's IEP or IESP goals
- Support each student's participation in school and daily activities
- Keep session notes and complete required documentation
- Complete progress reports as required
- Communicate with the school, the family and the student's team
- Attend IEP meetings for the students you work with
