The School Nutrition Manager is responsible for serving attractive and nutritious meals in an atmosphere of efficiency, cleanliness, warmth, and professional service, consistent with District nutritional and education goals. This role involves organizing, supervising, and coordinating school cafeteria activities, evaluating site programs, and making recommendations. The manager oversees food preparation, sale, serving, and storage, manages ordering, receiving, and storage of food, equipment, and supplies, and is responsible for training, supervising, and evaluating nutrition service staff. Additionally, the role includes controlling and managing food and labor costs, maintaining sanitary conditions, fostering effective working relationships, and preparing various reports. The manager also performs food preparation and clean-up duties as needed, attends meetings and training, and prepares quality food according to USDA, CDE, and BCSD nutrition standards. The position requires performing moderately heavy manual tasks and modeling personal and professional values of equity, integrity, caring, collaboration, and accountability.
