This position is responsible for preparing, cooking, serving, and storing food in accordance with accepted institutional procedures and Health Department Requirements. The role also involves adhering to all meal accountability procedures, including cashiering. The School Nutrition Assistant will follow daily production schedules, prepare recipes as written, clean utensils and equipment, dispose of garbage, and mop assigned floor areas. They will utilize left-over food as directed by the manager and store all food items properly. The assistant must utilize and maintain equipment as trained, follow approved instructions for chemical use, and adhere to Federal, State, and Local policies, procedures, and regulations. Additionally, they must follow Classified Employees Work Rules and School Nutrition Personnel and Uniform Standards, demonstrate ability to improve job-related skills, take pride in serving students, and maintain confidentiality of all information concerning students and staff. Completion of all required training, including annual local training and the 30-hour Orientation for Nutrition Employees, is necessary. The role may also involve other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the appropriate administrator.
