This position involves preparing, cooking, serving, and storing food in accordance with accepted institutional procedures and Health Department Requirements. The role also includes adhering to all meal accountability procedures, including cashiering. The School Nutrition Assistant is expected to follow daily production schedules, prepare recipes as written, clean utensils and equipment, dispose of garbage, and mop assigned floor areas. They will utilize left-over food as directed by the manager and store all food items properly. Maintaining and utilizing equipment as trained, following instructions for chemical use, and adhering to Federal, State, and Local policies, procedures, and regulations are also key responsibilities. The role requires adherence to Classified Employees Work Rules and School Nutrition Personnel and Uniform Standards, demonstrating an ability to improve job-related skills, and taking pride in serving students. Maintaining confidentiality of student and staff information, completing all required training, and performing other assigned duties are also part of the role.
