About The Position
Performs a variety of routine kitchen tasks essential to the efficient operation of the School Nutrition Program. Responsibilities include the preparation, serving and storage of food; Cleaning and maintaining food service areas; Cashiering; operation of commercial foodservice equipment. Work is performed under the direct supervision of the SN Manager and is reviewed on an ongoing basis.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED equivalency
- Be able to communicate well with adults and children
Nice To Haves
- Food service experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Follows policies and procedures of Bladen County
- Knowledge of cash management, inventory, food preparation and standards of sanitation and safety.
- Assists in quality food production
- Promotes and maintains high standards of sanitation of safety and demonstrates acceptable personal grooming
- Assists to ensure that food, supplies and equipment are adequate to operate an effective cafeteria.
- Assistant maintaining up to date productions records, including completing paper and electronic records as program requires.
- Possesses a willingness to learn and implement new techniques and Knowledge of current developments in school food service and shares information with other school nutrition
- Knowledgeable of nutrition education information and shares this information with other school personnel
- Helps establish a pleasant and positive image in the cafeteria.
- Serves food graciously and practices good communications
- Performs all other duties as assigned by the School Nutrition
