About The Position

RFK Community Alliance has an exciting opportunity for a full-time School Nurse to join our team in Lancaster! Who We Seek: We are looking for an experienced nurse to join our exceptional nursing team within our day school programs. The nurse will work as a part of the school nursing team to provide supervision of medication management and health coordination for youth in a day school setting. You will assist in overseeing medication plans and medication administration, as well as offering critical decision-making for health emergencies. You will work with the nursing team to enhance the health education of our students and our staff and serve as a health advocate for both students and staff. This is a year-round school nurse position.

Requirements

  • Valid license to practice as a Registered Nurse in Massachusetts.
  • A Bachelor's or Master’s degree in nursing.
  • A minimum of two years of employment as a Registered Nurse in child health, community health, or other relevant clinical nursing settings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the management of the school-based Medication Administration Program, consistent with the regulations governing the administration of prescription medications in public and private schools.
  • Assist in the development and facilitation of health education classes for students.
  • Maintain student health records.
  • Oversee and perform all state-mandated programs such as immunization surveillance and screenings (vision and hearing).
  • Triage of injury, illness, or accident and provide appropriate intervention.
  • Participate with staff in developing and implementing school health curriculum programs.
