Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Active New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License
- Current American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Certification
- NYSED fingerprint clearance required
- Experience caring for pediatric patients, including familiarity with pediatric diabetes management
Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to students, including assessment and treatment of illnesses, injuries, and acute health concerns that arise during the school day.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with physician orders, individualized health plans, and school health protocols.
- Monitor and manage students with chronic health conditions, including pediatric diabetes, and respond appropriately to changes in their health status.
- Maintain accurate student health records, communicate relevant health information with appropriate school personnel and families, and support a safe and healthy school environment.
