About The Position
Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Registered Nurses (RNs) in Rochester, NY, to provide essential health support and compassionate nursing care to students. This per diem position offers the flexibility to choose available shifts that fit your schedule, with opportunities to work up to 34 hours per week. The role involves providing skilled nursing care, responding to medical needs and emergencies, monitoring student health, administering medications, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure appropriate student care.
Requirements
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Active New York State Registered Professional Nurse (RN) License
- Current American Heart Association CPR/First Aid Certification
- NYSED fingerprint clearance required
- Experience caring for pediatric patients, including familiarity with pediatric diabetes management
Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care and health support to students throughout the school day.
- Respond to medical needs and emergencies as they arise.
- Monitor students’ health status and provide appropriate nursing support to those with acute or chronic conditions, including pediatric diabetes.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, families, and healthcare providers to communicate health needs and coordinate appropriate student care.
