School Nurse, LPN
About The Position
The School Nurse, LPN provides basic first aid that incorporates health promotion and disease prevention for students and families at various Kokomo Schools locations. The nurse follows written orders of the County Health Officer when providing daily care to ill or injured students, maintains student records, administers medications, and performs state-mandated screenings and prepares reports required by the State of Indiana. The position also involves developing school health programs for students in the building, identifying health problems, and recommending appropriate follow-up to parents. Additional duties may be assigned by the Director of Social and Student Services. This position is 37.5 hours per week for 186 days (9.5 months), at an hourly rate of $23.75. Requirements
- Be licensed as a practical nurse in accordance with the Indiana State Board of Nursing.
- Possess and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license.
- Have computer knowledge.
