About The Position

The School Nurse LPN PRN position at Navicent Health Medical Center's School Nursing Program is a part-time role focused on providing direct care to students who are ill or injured. This role involves screening and referring students for healthcare conditions, administering medications, managing chronic illnesses, and contributing to a healthy and safe school environment. The nurse will act as a liaison between the school, family, and physician, audit immunization records, document care in the EMR, and educate staff on health-related issues. The position also requires completing online continuing education and attending meetings as requested.

Requirements

• Valid, active license in the state in which teammate practices
• BLS certification
• Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
• None required (experience)
• NA (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care to those ill or injured
• Screening and referral if needed for health care conditions
• Medication administration, chronic illness management
• Assist in promoting healthy, safe environment
• Act as liaison between school, family and physician
• Audit immunization records and student health forms
• Document in the EMR per school system
• Educate Staff on student on health related issues and treatments as needed
• Complete online continuing education and attend meetings as requested
• Other duties as assigned by supervisor
