About The Position

Responsible for developing behavioral management plans in conjunction with multidisciplinary team. Co-facilitates group counseling sessions, providing behavioral back-up and one-to-one behavioral interventions. Coordinates the school PBIS program. Provides mental health services at an individual, small group, and class-wide level. Leads the PBIS (Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports) implementation for the school. Responsible for consulting with staff members to create behavior intervention plans and functional behavioral assessments. Monitors and evaluates physical condition of children. Functions as member of the crisis team and admissions team, and assists with the supervision of student's during recess, between classes and during special events. Maintains student confidentiality and any other confidential information that is obtained during the performance of duties. Participates in the development and implementation of the school quality improvement plan. Serves as coordinator of eighth continuation to the next grade level as well as transitions for all students. Performs all other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Special Education, Early Childhood Education or related field, required.

Nice To Haves

  • A minimum of three (3) years experience in special education, preferred.
  • Experience with chronically ill children, preferred.
  • Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) preferred.
