School Lunch Aide
About The Position
American Montessori Academy located in Livonia/Westland is hiring a part time School Lunch Aide. Hours 10am-1:30pm daily; $16 hourly rate. AMA is a welcoming and genuine learning environment. Through the Montessori philosophy and individualized learning paths, we engage students to emerge as self-directed learners, flexible thinkers, and peaceful problem solvers. We are seeking a reliable Lunch Aide to join our team to provide supervision and support for students during lunch periods. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic, patient, and committed to fostering a supportive atmosphere for children.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; additional education in child development, education, or related fields is a plus.
- Previous experience working with children in an educational or caregiving setting preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate to children and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other staff members and maintain a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
- Supervise students during lunchtime, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Monitor student behavior and enforce school rules to maintain a respectful and orderly environment.
- Communicate effectively with students and school staff regarding student behavior and any relevant issues.
- Manage conflicts and resolve issues in a calm and constructive manner, fostering a positive atmosphere.
- Ensure cleanliness and organization of the lunch area.
- Attend training sessions and staff meetings as necessary to enhance skills and knowledge relevant to the position.
- Other duties as assigned
