About The Position

Responsible for providing and maintaining an updated library resource program for both staff and students, following the established library curriculum and behavior management program in the education of Mooseheart youth. This role involves working with the public library system (R.A.I.L.S) to provide reading resources, assisting teachers and students with electronic resources and cloud-based products, and overseeing the 1-to-1 computer program.

Requirements

College degree in an applicable field.
Meet the licensing and registration requirements of the State of Illinois for teacher's certification and maintain certification.
Minimum of 21 years of age.
Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Must pass a thorough background investigation and be cleared by the Dept of Children and Family Services via fingerprinting.

Nice To Haves

Master's in library science preferred.
Strength in technology area is helpful.
Prefer some experience in Behavior Management.
Some previous youth supervisory experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Provide and maintain an updated library resource program for staff and students.
Follow the established library curriculum and behavior management program.
Work with the public library system (R.A.I.L.S) to provide reading resources.
Assist teachers and students with electronic resources and cloud-based products.
Utilize appropriate and acceptable instructional techniques and curriculum.
Prepare long-range plans and develop well-defined objectives for students.
Monitor pupil progress and adjust the pace accordingly.
Provide additional out-of-class time for students making unsatisfactory progress.
Respond to disciplinary problems in a manner consistent with the Mooseheart Model of Care.
Set a positive example and encourage socially acceptable behavior.
Attend professional growth-oriented training programs.
Oversee the 1-to-1 computer program.
Perform any other duties and special projects assigned by the Supt. of Education, Assistant Principal or the Executive Director of Mooseheart Operations.
