About The Position

The Manager, School Leadership Support serves as a key support to School Leaders and Assistant School Leaders across the Early Childhood Division. This role strengthens schoolwide systems and supports high quality instructional, operational, and cultural practices across schools. The position serves as an important liaison between school -based leadership teams, the Teaching and Learning team, and other Headquarters staff to ensure alignment, communication, and effective implementation of priorities. The Manager, School Leadership Support works alongside school leaders to help put Teaching and Learning initiatives and organizational expectations into action by turning them into practical school -level systems, clear next steps, and ways to track progress. This role also helps connect schools with other teams by sharing school-based needs, challenges, and opportunities to strengthen alignment and continuous improvement. Using AI tools when appropriate, this role also helps school leaders streamline systems, improve efficiency, enhance communication, and strengthen problem -solving. In addition, the position provides site -based leadership support when School Leaders or Assistant School Leaders are absent, ensuring continuity of operations and support for teachers, children, and families. Applies professional/managerial principles and judgment, within overall direction established by senior management. Solves complex technical or strategic problems; applies technology or business approaches in new ways; develops and recommends new alternatives. Regular interaction to communicate or negotiate important agreements, requiring considerable tact, sense of timing, and the ability to engender trust, plus sensitivity to diverse audiences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, Elementary Education, Educational Leadership, Administration, or a related field, or equivalent relevant experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible experience in education, early childhood education, school leadership, instructional coaching, or a related role.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting school operations, instructional practices, and/or leadership development.
  • Knowledge of developmentally appropriate practice, curriculum implementation, and child assessment in early childhood settings.
  • Knowledge of compliance and operational expectations associated with Head Start, DHS licensing, NAEYC, and other governing bodies.
  • Experience using data to inform decision -making, improve practices, and support child, teacher, and school outcomes.
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, collaboration, and problem -solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively across schools, departments, and partners.
  • Proficiency with technology, data systems, Microsoft Office, and other school -based platforms.
  • Strong understanding of early childhood instructional practices and whole -child development.
  • Ability to build trust and credibility with School Leaders, Assistant School Leaders, teachers, and central office partners.
  • Ability to coach and support adult learners in implementing new practices and systems.
  • Strong problem -solving and critical -thinking skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to guide action and improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a support to School Leaders and Assistant School Leaders in developing, implementing, and refining effective schoolwide systems and processes.
  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to support the planning, communication, rollout, and implementation of school leadership projects and initiatives.
  • Provide site-based leadership coverage when School Leaders or Assistant School Leaders are absent, including coverage for extended care and helping ensure continuity of operations so that teachers, children, and families receive consistent support during leadership absences.
  • Act as a liaison between the support teams and school leadership teams to support clear communication, alignment, and implementation of initiatives and priorities.
  • Support school leadership teams in strengthening problem -solving skills related to staffing, child placement, family communication, scheduling, and day -to-day operations.
  • Support school leaders in strengthening their instructional leadership lens by helping them monitor classroom practices, including implementation of developmentally appropriate curriculum, effective teaching practices, and child assessment processes that promote whole -child development.
  • Provide training and guidance on school systems, processes, and operational expectations that improve effectiveness, efficiency, consistency, and compliance across sites, including requirements associated with Head Start, NAEYC, DHS, licensing, and other governing bodies.
  • Collaborate with School Leaders to evaluate, improve, and streamline systems to better meet the needs of teachers, children, and families, including the use of AI tools and data systems when appropriate to inform decision -making and improve child, teacher, and school outcomes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or requested.
