About The Position

ABM is seeking a reliable School Custodian to perform general cleaning duties in designated areas at a K-12 school, college, or university campus. This role is suitable for someone entering or returning to the workforce with limited experience and education. No prior experience or high school diploma, GED, or college degree is required; on-the-job training is provided. Veterans and candidates with military experience are encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

Clean and maintain assigned areas, which may include classrooms, hallways, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and stairways.
Sweep, remove debris, clean spills, and mop floors in designated areas.
Check trash receptacles regularly and empty them as needed.
Follow procedures for using chemical cleaners and power equipment to prevent damage to floors and fixtures.
Notify the lead cleaner or manager when minor or major repairs or additions to building operating systems are needed.
Establish and maintain effective communication and working relationships with clients, co-workers, shift coordinators, supervisors, and managers.
Collect, consolidate, and sort recycling into the proper receptacles.
Clean and dust desks, chairs, tables, furniture, fixtures, doors, sills, floors, ceilings, and walls.
Polish hard surfaces, including woodwork and stainless steel surfaces.
Wipe and clean tabletops, chairs, and equipment in food areas.
Move cabinets, boxes, furniture, crates, and equipment to clean areas, manually or with hand trucks.
Clean interior partition glass, windows, glass partitions, and mirrors using soapy water or other cleaners, sponges, and squeegees.
Sweep walks, rake leaves, cut grass, remove snow, or perform other incidental seasonal tasks.
Maintain restroom cleanliness and polish fixtures as needed.
Comply with safety, security, compliance, and quality standards and procedures established by the Company, clients, and regulatory authorities.
