The Division of Family and Child Health (DFCH) of the New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene is responsible for creating and overseeing programs, policies, services, and environments that support the physical and socio-emotional health of New York City families and children. This includes promoting primary and reproductive health services, health equity, social justice, safety, and well-being. The DFCH is composed of the Bureau of Maternal Infant and Reproductive Health, the Bureau of Early Intervention, the Office of School Health, and the Bureau of Administration. The vision of the DFCH is to empower every child, woman, and family to reach their full health and development potential. The School Health Nurse Practitioner, under the administrative supervision of the High School Nursing Director and with a clinical collaborative relationship to the High School Medical leadership team, will be involved in the planning, development, and delivery of clinical services to high school students, adhering to standard adolescent medical care practices.
