This role involves providing technical assistance and training to public schools on school finance, budget development, and financial management. The specialist will work with a team to present information to Superintendents and district business staff, acting as a liaison between the Texas Education Agency (TEA) and local districts. Key responsibilities include conducting regionwide trainings, assisting districts with budget analysis, state revenue determinations, cash flow estimating, WADA calculations, revenue projections, and guidance on audit findings and Truth in Taxation calculations. The specialist will also guide school finance officials on budget and finance presentation tools and techniques, develop program procedures based on state initiatives, and participate in professional development.
