About The Position

Come work for the world’s leading private employer of Registered Dietitians! Sodexo has an exciting new opportunity for a Full-time Registered Dietitian for a Crowley Independent School District located in Crowley, Texas - 40 miles outside of Dallas! This is a year-round position. This Registered Dietitian will provide nutritional guidance and menu support to our operations team and frontline managers as the nutrition expert for the district.

Requirements

  • Registered Dietitian credentials and licensure (LDN) in state of TX.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to effectively engage, motivate and influence others regarding their nutrition.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities with the ability to adapt the changing needs of the role.
  • History of working independently with little direction.
  • Commitment to continued education in the nutrition field and implementation of new and innovative ideas to implement.
  • Master's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • For those eligible for the registration exam prior to 1/1/24: Bachelor's degree with completion of required coursework and supervised practice as dictated by the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND)
  • Meets eligibility requirements for Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RD/RDN) by the Commission on Dietetic Registration (CDR) and will become registered within 120 days of hire.
  • In some states and/or facilities the RD/RDN credentials is required at the time of hire
  • Certification/licensure as required by state(s) of practice.
  • In some states and/or facilities state certification/licensure is required at the time of hire
  • Minimum Functional Experience - 2 years work experience in health care including hospitals, nursing homes, assisted or independent living facilities, long-term care, retirement homes, or clinics + registered dietitian

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for menu planning for the 27 schools within the district and nutritional analysis, including system-wide staff training on computerized nutrition-analysis system.
  • Responsible for special diets required by the district and work closely with school nurses, students and families.
  • Work with nutrition issues related to food allergies, weight management and disordered eating patterns and other medical issues requiring meal selection assistance.
  • Participate in Health Fairs, community events and develop and deliver presentations as needed to support client goals.
  • Manage nutrition databases including PrimeroEdge and Nutrislice.
