About The Position

Join our team and help provide quality dental care to children in school-based settings and clinic locations. The School Dental Assistant supports dentists with patient care, clinical procedures, mobile dental program operations, and administrative tasks to ensure a safe and efficient experience for students and families. Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Strong communication, organization, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently in both clinic and school environments
  • Comfortable working with children and traveling to local schools

Nice To Haves

  • Dental Assistant training or experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during restorative, preventive, and other dental procedures while providing compassionate care to pediatric patients
  • Prepare operatories, instruments, materials, and equipment for scheduled patient visits and procedures
  • Obtain and accurately document patient histories, charting, treatment notes, and billing information in the electronic health record
  • Take and process dental x-rays while following all safety and infection control guidelines
  • Clean, sterilize, and maintain dental instruments and treatment areas in accordance with OSHA, CDC, and organizational standards
  • Support mobile dental clinic operations, including transporting, setting up, breaking down, and maintaining portable dental equipment at school locations
  • Coordinate daily school schedules to help ensure students complete treatment before leaving the school site
  • Communicate post-visit information and follow-up instructions with parents and guardians
  • Maintain inventory and notify appropriate staff when supplies or equipment need replenishment
  • Support quality improvement initiatives and contribute to a positive, team-oriented work environment
