About The Position

This posting will be used to fill various School Custodian II positions at Lincoln Elementary. The role performs custodial, grounds maintenance, general labor, and basic repair work to maintain school buildings, grounds, equipment, and supplies. The advertised salary is $4,534.00 per month and is based on full-time employment; it includes shortage and school year differentials, if applicable. No experience is required. Applicants may describe relevant grounds maintenance experience, including cleaning, watering, fertilizing, trimming, mowing, sweeping, and raking.
Applicants may describe relevant general labor experience, such as moving materials, furniture, and equipment; loading and unloading trucks; carrying, unloading, and stacking tools and supplies for skilled craftspeople; and digging trenches and ditches.

Responsibilities

Sweep and mop floors, hallways, stairways, and classrooms.
Wipe, dust, and polish furniture and metalwork.
Clean woodwork, walls, venetian blinds, electrical fixtures, windows, and other areas that are not easily accessible.
Mop, clean, disinfect, and service lavatories and restrooms; clean water fountains and wash basins.
Water, rake, weed, and spread topsoil on lawns; mow areas inaccessible to gang power mowers; and pick up rubbish, leaves, and other refuse.
Assist with trimming and pruning hedges, trees, and shrubbery; planting and fertilizing shrubbery, grass, and flowers; and propagating and transplanting young plants and shoots.
Move and transport heavy objects, including office and classroom furniture, benches, platforms, and refuse disposal barrels.
Load, unload, and distribute school and janitorial supplies and equipment.
Replace toilet floats, faucets, fluorescent and standard light bulbs, and fuses.
Make simple repairs to doors, windows, jalousies, stairways, venetian blinds, chairs, sprinkler systems, and other school facilities and equipment.
Operate heavy-duty industrial cleaning equipment, including vacuum cleaners, scrubbing machines, and floor polishers.
Remove spots and stains from carpets and, as needed, operate a shampoo machine to clean carpets.
May be in charge of janitorial supplies and equipment for the school and assist with taking inventories.
