Prince George’s County Government is seeking qualified applicants to fill multiple part-time School Crossing Guard positions. This is specialized work that involves the safe crossing of school children and pedestrians and control of traffic at school or other crossings. The work is to prevent accidents and protect the safety of school children and other pedestrians. Employees must wear a uniform while on assignment and work requires employees to stand, walk, and use arm/hand signals, whistles, and voice. Applicants MUST be able to work both morning and afternoon shifts for all scheduled hours between 7:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. AND 1:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. This position is permanent part-time, and the hours are not negotiable. School Crossing Guards must have reliable transportation to attend orientation, training, and to the work locations. Applicants must be able to accommodate schedule changes due to late arrivals, early dismissals and inclement weather changes. School Work locations are NOT assigned according to where you live, and you must be able to work any assigned location within Prince George's County. Given the nature of the role, with the focus on the safety of children and members of the community, the required work schedule is not flexible.
