About The Position

As a School Crossing Guard for Uintah County, you’ll be the everyday hero ensuring our local students and families travel safely to and from school. It’s the perfect gig for early risers, energetic retirees, or anyone looking to stay active, connect with local youth, and lend a helping hand—all in just two quick hours a day! The schedule is Monday – Friday, 7:30 AM – 8:30 AM and 3:00 PM – 4:00 PM, active only during the school year. Enjoy your weekends, school holidays, and summer breaks completely off!

Requirements

  • A Community-First Attitude: Friendly, approachable, and ready to share a smile every morning.
  • Sharp Focus & Communication: Great listening and speaking skills to keep drivers aware and pedestrians safe.
  • Basic Traffic Savvy: Understanding of simple traffic signs, signals, and crossing safety procedures.
  • Physical Energy: Comfortable standing, walking, and waving in various weather conditions.

Responsibilities

  • Safely guide excited kids and community members across busy intersections.
  • Teach young walkers and bikers essential road safety habits.
  • Stay sharp, spot traffic patterns, and keep the neighborhood safe.
  • Build great relationships with local families, school staff, and fellow county team members.
