The Learning Experience - Tuckahoe is seeking a dependable and safety-focused School Crossing Guard to help children and families safely navigate arrival and departure from our center. This role is ideal for someone who is alert, responsible, comfortable working outdoors, and committed to creating a safe and welcoming experience for children and families.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Dependable, punctual, and safety-conscious
- Strong communication and observational skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Able to stand and remain attentive for assigned periods
Nice To Haves
- Experience working around children, schools, or traffic safety is a plus
Responsibilities
- Help children and families safely cross designated areas during arrival and departure
- Monitor vehicle and pedestrian traffic around the center
- Remain alert and attentive throughout assigned crossing periods
- Provide clear and appropriate signals to pedestrians and drivers
- Maintain a visible and professional presence
- Help reinforce safe arrival and departure procedures
- Communicate safety concerns to center leadership
- Follow center policies and applicable safety procedures
