About The Position

Lakeside Educational Network is dedicated to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for students' mental and emotional health. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our In-School Counselor Program within the Radnor Township School District High School. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by providing essential mental health support and guidance. The role is a Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) position scheduled to begin in September 2026. The caseload consists of individual students. Services happen in an office inside the guidance counselor suite. There is a great Lakeside In-School Counselor team at Radnor already in place as a resource.

Requirements

Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
Proven experience in providing mental health counseling to children and adolescents.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
Knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and the school community.

Nice To Haves

License preferred (LSW, LCSW, LPC LPCA or LMFT).

Responsibilities

Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address mental health, emotional challenges, and behavioral issues.
Actively listen to students, ask insightful questions, and create a safe space for open communication.
Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies and interventions to support students' overall well-being and academic success.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop comprehensive support plans for students.
Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
Promote awareness of mental health resources and facilitate referrals to external providers when necessary.
Participate in school meetings, staff development, and community outreach initiatives related to student wellness.
