About The Position

Lakeside Educational Network is dedicated to fostering a supportive and nurturing environment for students' mental and emotional health. We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Counselor to join our In-School Counselor Program within the Radnor Township School District High School. This position offers an excellent opportunity to make a meaningful impact on students' lives by providing essential mental health support and guidance. The role is a Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA) position scheduled to begin in September 2026. The caseload consists of individual students. Services happen in an office inside the guidance counselor suite. There is a great Lakeside In-School Counselor team at Radnor already in place as a resource.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related mental health field.
  • Proven experience in providing mental health counseling to children and adolescents.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and families.
  • Knowledge of child development, mental health issues, and evidence-based intervention strategies.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of students and the school community.

Nice To Haves

  • License preferred (LSW, LCSW, LPC LPCA or LMFT).

Responsibilities

  • Provide individual and group counseling sessions to students to address mental health, emotional challenges, and behavioral issues.
  • Actively listen to students, ask insightful questions, and create a safe space for open communication.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate strategies and interventions to support students' overall well-being and academic success.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to develop comprehensive support plans for students.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential records of counseling sessions and student progress.
  • Promote awareness of mental health resources and facilitate referrals to external providers when necessary.
  • Participate in school meetings, staff development, and community outreach initiatives related to student wellness.
