About The Position
We are seeking a compassionate, highly organized, and student-centered School Counselor to join our team. Partner with SMART Management and BridgePrep Academy in our mission to support the academic, social-emotional, and behavioral development of every student, ensuring they receive the guidance and support necessary to thrive in school and beyond.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution.
- Valid or eligible Florida School Counselor Certification.
- Exceptional listening, empathy, crisis intervention, and organizational skills; deep alignment with our mission.
- Successful completion of a Level 2 background screening through the Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse.
Nice To Haves
- Master’s degree in School Counseling or a related field (eligible for salary supplement).
Responsibilities
- Provide individual and small-group counseling to support students experiencing academic, social-emotional, or behavioral challenges.
- Monitor student intervention plans, support MTSS frameworks, and respond promptly and professionally to student crises and referrals.
- Serve as a trusted partner to families, facilitating support meetings, sharing resources, and providing clear communication on student progress.
- Implement campus-wide character development initiatives, guidance lessons, and social-emotional learning activities to foster a positive school climate.
- Maintain meticulous, confidential student documentation while actively participating in school leadership check-ins, PD, and coaching sessions.
