About The Position

LEARN Academy is seeking a Part-Time School Counselor in Mesa, AZ. As a School Counselor at LEARN Academy, you play a crucial role in supporting the delivery of comprehensive special education services to children with special needs. Working collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team, you implement evidence-based interventions that promote students' participation and success in their educational environment. You will work across school settings alongside teachers, administrators, families, and related service providers to deliver high-quality support. You provide individualized guidance and support to help students navigate academic challenges, career planning, and personal issues.

Requirements

Master's degree in school counseling from an accredited program
Maintain state license/certification
Current AZ IVP Fingerprint card

Responsibilities

Conduct individual and group counseling sessions to address students' academic, career, and personal/social development.
Develop and implement comprehensive school counseling programs that align with students' needs and school goals.
Collaborate with teachers, parents, and administrators to support student success and well-being.
Assist students in developing academic plans and setting realistic goals for their future education and careers.
Provide crisis intervention and support for students experiencing emotional or behavioral challenges.
Facilitate workshops and classroom lessons on topics such as bullying prevention, conflict resolution, social emotional skills and college readiness.
Advocate for students' needs at IEP meetings and other student-focused discussions.
Refer families and students to external mental health resources when necessary.
Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions and student progress.
Stay current with best practices in school counseling through ongoing professional development.
