About The Position

The School Counselor is a part of the Counseling Office and works with the Director of School Counseling to execute and implement the 4-year Counseling program at Purcell Marian High School. The ideal candidate will provide academic, college/career, and social-emotional counseling services to students in grades 9-12. This position plays a critical role in supporting Purcell Marian student success, fostering personal growth, and preparing students for their postsecondary plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Experience teaching or working in a diverse environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to exercise excellent judgment in decision-making
  • Ability to work collaboratively
  • Ability to gather and analyze data
  • Ability to compile information
  • Ability to prepare reports
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Experience utilizing the Google Suite, Google Classroom, and Zoom
  • Advanced knowledge of Overgrad, the Common Application, and other college and career oriented programs
  • Uphold the core values associated to Purcell Marian, The Marianists, and the Archdiocese of Cincinnati.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters degree preferred
  • School Counseling license is preferred or ability to quickly acquire certification
  • Familiarity with ASCA, NACAC, OACAC, OACTE, NCDA, and other professional organizations
