About The Position

Eagle Ridge Academy is a Tuition-Free Classical, College-Preparatory Charter School serving students and families in grades K-12. Eagle Ridge offers an academically rigorous education that uses a time-tested, Classical, liberal arts curriculum. Eagle Ridge Academy (Minnetonka, MN) invites applications for the following position: Licensed Counselor for Grades 5-8. Provide academic and personal/social counseling services to students.

Responsibilities

  • Counsel students individually and in small groups.
  • Create yearlong sequence of developmentally appropriate academic, social-emotional, and related skills for grades 5-8.
  • Conduct classroom and whole-grade guidance activities.
  • Review school data frequently to ensure that the school counseling program is meeting the academic and personal/social development, and mental health needs of all students.
  • Prepare reports, records, lists and all other required information and data.
  • Encourage teacher/parent communication and community involvement.
  • Assist students in conflict resolution.
  • Manage crises.
  • Assist in the identification of students with special needs.
  • Refer students to intervention/remediation programs, as well as, academic and alternative programs to ensure academic success and personal well-being.
  • Interpret student records.
  • Initiate student programs.
  • Refer students to appropriate school personnel and community agencies.
  • Participate in SST, MTSS, Child Study and 504 meetings.
  • Participate in parent/teacher conferences.
  • Serve as resource for school personnel and parents.
  • Maintain a variety of files/records and departmental library of supplementary and reference materials.
  • Follow required procedures and practices.
  • Submit monthly time and task reports electronically.
  • Support Master schedule development and resolution of schedule conflicts in MS and HS.
  • Support student schedules for grades 5-8.
  • Supervise students as scheduled or directed.
  • Substitute teach on a limited/as-needed basis.
  • Perform related work as required.
