About The Position

OneService is seeking a dedicated and reliable School Cleaner/Day Porter to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students, faculty, and staff. This role focuses on active building maintenance throughout the school day, ensuring high-traffic areas are addressed promptly and facilities remain sanitary.

Requirements

Previous experience in a cleaning, custodial, or janitorial role (school experience is a plus).
Ability to work independently and maintain a professional demeanor in an educational environment.
Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to facility maintenance.
Reliable transportation to and from the work site.
Willingness to undergo a criminal background check as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Monitor and maintain student and staff lavatories, including frequent restocking of supplies and sanitization of surfaces.
Perform routine cleaning of hallways, entrances, common areas, and multipurpose spaces throughout the day.
Address spills, accidents, and unexpected cleaning needs immediately to ensure a safe environment.
Empty trash and recycling containers as required.
Regularly clean and disinfect high-traffic touchpoints (door handles, railings, etc.) to support health and safety standards.
Assist school administration with reasonable, routine cleaning requests as needed.
Report any maintenance conditions, safety concerns, or facility issues to management promptly.
